Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Offset boxes and overhangs

Each box sits shifted from the one below, which creates overhangs at the corners. Printing slowly with good cooling helps, and a larger print size makes the overhangs easier to print.

  2. One piece with the ground

The New Museum is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The New Museum takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the New Museum

Marcia Tucker founded the New Museum of Contemporary Art in 1977; its address is 235 Bowery, in Manhattan's Lower East Side. The first home was a space at 65 Fifth Avenue inside the Graduate Center of what was then called the New School for Social Research. In 1983 it moved to rented space, about two and a half floors in the Astor Building, 583 Broadway, in SoHo.

The building at 235 Bowery sits between Stanton Street and Rivington Street. The museum opened it on December 1, 2007, at a cost of $50 million, and it has seven stories and 58,700 square feet of space. The Tokyo firm Sejima + Nishizawa/SANAA designed it with Gensler of New York. The stack of white boxes along the Bowery was a response to neighborhood gentrification. In April 2008, Condé Nast Traveler counted the building among the New Seven Wonders of the World for architecture.

The museum exists to present new art and new ideas, particularly from artists who have not yet gained wide exposure or recognition, and it has long set out to challenge how stiffly institutional an art museum can be. Its Bowery location included gallery and event space plus a Resource Center offering books and computers. The New Museum Digital Archive gives online access to primary sources drawn from exhibitions, publications and programs.

About this model

The New Museum is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
