10 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Small domed cupola
The small domed tower on top is the finest part of this model. Print friendly adapts it to the print scale; Full detail keeps every carved feature, which suits larger prints and slower speeds.
- Rows of arched windows
The facades carry many small arched openings and cornices. A bigger print size and a 0.12-0.16 mm layer height keep these shallow details crisp.
- One piece with the ground
New York City Hall is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. New York City Hall takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About New York City Hall
New York City Hall is where the city is governed. It stands in the middle of City Hall Park, in Lower Manhattan's Civic Center area, with Broadway, Park Row and Chambers Street around it. Work ran from 1803 to 1812, and it ranks as the oldest US city hall still carrying out its original governmental functions.
Inside are the mayor's office and the New York City Council chambers. The city ran a design competition in 1802, and the winners, sharing a $350 first prize, were Joseph-François Mangin together with John McComb Jr. The first of them is not known to have had any role after winning, and McComb alone oversaw the building work.
The cornerstone was laid on May 26, 1803. The City Council objected that the plan was too lavish, so McComb made the building smaller and used brownstone for the back wall to save money. The deteriorated original marble facade was swapped for Alabama limestone in 1954 to 1956. The building was dedicated in 1811 and officially opened in 1812. It is a National Historic Landmark and carries a National Register listing too.
