Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Dome and copper-clad roof

A ribbed dome with small windows sits among the roof ridges, with a chimney beside it. Print friendly adapts these fine ribs; Full detail keeps them, best at a larger print size with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.

  2. One piece with the ground

The New York Savings Bank Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The New York Savings Bank Building takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the New York Savings Bank Building

In Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood stands the former New York Savings Bank Building, built from 1896 to 1898 for a bank that no longer exists. It occupies an L-shaped lot at 81 Eighth Avenue, on the northwest corner of 14th Street. Robert Henderson Robertson was its architect; Halsey, McCormack & Helmer and George H. Provot made later additions. Both its exterior and interior hold New York City landmark status, and the National Register of Historic Places includes it.

Robertson designed the building in the neoclassical style, with porticos and a dome inspired by ancient Roman temples. The basement has a granite water table, and the facade above it is Vermont marble. The Eighth Avenue portico, which holds the main entrance, has Corinthian columns and a triangular pediment. Most of the building has a gable roof clad in copper, and a dome with clerestory windows rises above. Inside, the main feature is a banking room three stories high, with a coffered vaulted ceiling and the dome recessed in its center.

The bank, founded in 1854, settled at 14th Street and Eighth Avenue in 1857. The present building went up in two stages, so the bank could keep doing business without interruption. Provot reworked the Eighth Avenue main facade in 1930. After the Buffalo Savings Bank moved out in 1987, Central Carpet opened a branch there in 1994, and a Balducci's food market occupied it between 2005 and 2009.
