Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Belfry and tiny spire

The open belfry and its thin pointed cap are the most delicate part of this small church. Full detail keeps them, but a larger print and a 0.12–0.16 mm layer height give them a better chance of coming out crisp.

  2. Fine roof and wall texture

The roof boards and brick-like walls are fine detail. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps all of it, which pays off best on a larger print.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow, New York, is home to this 17th-century stone church, known in Dutch as Oude Nederlandse Kerk van Sleepy Hollow. It faces Albany Post Road, which carries U.S. Route 9. The National Register of Historic Places lists it under the name Dutch Reformed Church (Sleepy Hollow). Among churches still standing in New York State it is the oldest, and it ranks among the state's oldest surviving buildings.

Frederick Philipse I, first lord of Philipsburg Manor, designed and paid for it. Builders used flat yellow bricks brought from the Netherlands, along with fieldstone and local timber. The building is rectangular, with a projecting three-sided apse at the east end and fieldstone walls 60 cm (two feet) thick. Its Flemish-style gambrel roof flares outward like a bell along the lower segments, and an octagonal wooden open belfry stands at the west end.

Its churchyard, called the Old Dutch Burying Ground, and the church both feature in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, a short story by Washington Irving from 1820. After a fire in 1837 the building was renovated, and 60 years later part of that work was undone to bring back its original look. It became a National Historic Landmark in 1961.
