9 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Dome and long side wings
The rounded dome sits at the center with wings stretching out either side. Print it with layers of 0.12–0.16 mm so the dome curve stays smooth.
- One piece with the ground
The Old Nassau County Courthouse is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Old Nassau County Courthouse takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Old Nassau County Courthouse
Garden City, New York, is home to this two-story courthouse, whose address is 1550 Franklin Avenue. It once housed the courts of Nassau County, on Long Island, and it has been in the National Register of Historic Places since 1978. It also goes by Nassau County Courthouse and by Historic Nassau County Courthouse.
William B. Tubby, a noted New York City architect, designed it in the Classical Revival style. A grand rotunda, topped with a white dome, is its centerpiece, and the walls are poured-in-place reinforced concrete. Theodore Roosevelt, then governor, laid the cornerstone in 1900, and the building was finished in 1901. Tubby also designed the wings added in 1916. More additions and renovations followed from 1924 to 1928 under architect William J. Beardsley.
By the time of its 1978 listing the building was neglected. The firm John G. Waite Associates did the dome restoration in 2002, and renovations went on until 2008, the year county executive Thomas Suozzi presided over the celebration of the building. It carries the name Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building.
