Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Keep the curved roof crisp

The barrel-shaped roof has a fine grid across its curved surface. A larger print and 0.12–0.16 mm layers help preserve the grid and the roof's rounded profile.

  2. Preserve small facade details

Rows of arches and fine lines along the facade add small detail. Use Print friendly to adapt these features at smaller scales, or Full detail with a larger print.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Opéra de Lyon is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Opéra de Lyon takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Opéra de Lyon

The Opéra de Lyon is an opera house in Lyon, France, housing the Opéra National de Lyon. It also goes by Opéra Nouvel; its earlier name was Grand Théâtre. The city's Grand Théâtre opened in 1756 to a design by Jacques-Germain Soufflot, whose other work included the Panthéon in Paris. When that house proved too small in the early nineteenth century, Jean-Marie Pollet and Antoine-Marie Chenavard built its replacement. The new opera house opened on July 1, 1831.

In 1985, the city chose to rebuild inside the shell of the 1831 house. Jean Nouvel's redesign, undertaken between 1985 and 1993, involved dUCKS scéno for scenography and Peutz for acoustics. Nouvel retained the foyer and exterior facade, excavated rehearsal rooms below ground, and tripled the interior space. A barrel vault of steel and glass doubled the building's height, concealed the fly tower, and accommodated the ballet company. The auditorium follows an Italian arrangement, with a horseshoe plan and boxes stacked in tiers. The nineteenth-century theater's restricted backstage space remained.
