About Papeete Cathedral
Papeete Cathedral is a church from the late 19th century, named for Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Papeete has its cathedral here. The rue du Général de Gaulle, near the esplanade by the water in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia's capital, is where it stands. Building started in the mid-19th century, and the doors opened in 1875. It is Tahiti's oldest Catholic church.
In 1842 France made the Kingdom of Tahiti a protectorate, and French missionaries began arriving that same year. The apostolic vicariate dates from May 9, 1848, and construction most likely started after that. The cathedral takes its name from Notre Dame de Paris. It counts among Papeete's last remaining early colonial buildings. A red steeple stands at the center of the entrance, facing Mont Aorai.
The interior is noted for mixing European and local Polynesian features. A life-size wooden carving of the Madonna and Child, with the child clutching a breadfruit, originated in the Marquesas Islands. Stations of the Cross by Yuel Durnad and St. Fond are another well-known feature, and their style was influenced by Paul Gauguin.

- Slim steeple with a cross
- A pointed steeple with a small cross rises above the entrance. Print slowly with good cooling, and use Print friendly so the thin tip adapts to the print scale.
- Pointed arched windows
- Tall pointed windows line the walls beneath a ribbed roof. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep them crisp, and Full detail suits a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
- Papeete Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Papeete Cathedral takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
