Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Ribbed roof and cornice

Fine ribbed lines cover the roof, and small brackets line the cornice. Layer heights of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep them readable; Full detail suits larger prints.

  2. One piece with the ground

Philosophy Hall is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Philosophy Hall takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Philosophy Hall

Philosophy Hall stands on Columbia University's campus in New York City and holds the English, Philosophy and French departments, the writing center, part of the registrar's office, plus the student lounge of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. McKim, Mead, and White designed it as one of the first buildings of the Morningside Heights campus, in Italian Renaissance Revival style, and it was completed in 1910.

It is a National Historic Landmark because Edwin Armstrong invented FM radio there in the early 1930s. The space used by the registrar once held electrical engineering laboratories, where Michael I. Pupin and Armstrong achieved several major technological breakthroughs. The landmark designation came in 2003.

Philosophers John Dewey and Ernest Nagel and literary scholars Lionel Trilling and Edward Said are among its notable faculty. Protesters did not occupy the building in 1968; it was a refuge for faculty instead. The lawn in front holds an original cast of Rodin's The Thinker.
