About Poznań Town Hall

Poznań Town Hall stands in the middle of the Old Market Square in Poznań's Old Town, Poland. It was first built in the late 13th century, after the medieval city was founded in 1253, and was completed around 1300 as a one-story Gothic building. Local government was based there until 1939, and the building houses a museum of the city's history, which belongs to the National Museum in Poznań.

After a major fire in 1536, Giovanni Battista di Quadro was commissioned by the city council in 1550 to carry out major repairs. By 1560 he had built an extra story on top, lengthened the building toward the west, and given it attic walls plus a loggia three stories high. Lightning destroyed the tower in 1675. In 1690 it was rebuilt, reaching 90 meters (300 feet). A large renovation from 1781 to 1784 gave the building its basic form, with a Classical-style tower roof designed by Bonawentura Solari and crowned with a white eagle that has a wingspan of two meters.

A new clock installed in 1551 had three full faces and a single half-face, and goats were added to it as a comic element. The mechanical goats butt each other at noon every day, over the clock on the building's front wall, after the clock strikes and a traditional bugle call, the hejnał, is played. The display counts among the main tourist attractions of the city. The building was rebuilt in 1945–1954 after the heavy damage it suffered in the Battle of Poznań.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Slim tower with open lantern
A clock tower with an open lantern and a thin spire rises from the roof. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the spire crisp, and printing slowly helps this tall, thin part.
Arcades and scalloped parapet
Rows of small arches and a scalloped parapet run across the facade. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
One piece with the ground
Poznań Town Hall is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Poznań Town Hall takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
