7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Battlements and towers
The parapets are crenellated and several towers rise above the roofline. Full detail keeps the battlements; at small sizes Print friendly simplifies the notches. A larger print and a 0.12 mm layer height keep them readable.
- One piece with the ground
Reid Hall, Manhattanville College is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Reid Hall, Manhattanville College takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Reid Hall, Manhattanville College
Reid Hall, nicknamed "The Castle", is an academic building at Purchase, in Westchester County, New York, on the Manhattanville University campus. It was built in 1892 in the Renaissance Revival style as a private home of 50,000 sq ft for Whitelaw Reid, a publisher and diplomat. Frederick Law Olmsted provided the landscaping for the estate.
Stanford White designed the house for Reid after he returned from Paris, where he had been the 28th U.S. Minister to France. It occupies the footprint of Ophir Hall, the earlier property of Ben Holladay, which burned down, and Reid rebuilt on the site with a large crenellated granite mansion. McKim, Mead & White expanded it in 1912 with a large library wing and a guest cottage.
The building is four stories, L-shaped, and built of granite blocks. A tower of five stories rises from it, and a corbelled battlement parapet hides the flat roof. Manhattanville College bought the property in 1951, and a National Register of Historic Places listing followed in 1974.
