About Riga Cathedral
Riga Cathedral is the Evangelical Lutheran cathedral of Riga, Latvia, formally named the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary. The Archbishop of Riga has his seat there. Its Latvian name is Rīgas Doms and its German name is Dom zu Riga. People often call it the Dome Cathedral, which repeats itself, since the word Dome derives from German Dom, which means cathedral. It appears in paintings, photographs and television travelogues, and is among the most recognizable landmarks in Latvia. As with the city's other oldest churches, it is known for its weathercock.
Livonian Bishop Albert of Riga, from Lower Saxony in northwestern Germany, built the church near the River Daugava in 1211. It is thought to be the biggest medieval church anywhere in the Baltic states and has undergone many modifications. A 1923 referendum forced the Lutheran Church to share it with the Roman Catholic Church, and a 1931 referendum returned it to the Lutheran Church. Worship services were banned during the Soviet occupation from 1939 until 1989, and the building served as a concert hall. It reopened for religious services in 1991.
Walcker Orgelbau, a firm from Ludwigsburg in Germany, built the organ in 1882–83, and it was inaugurated on January 31, 1884. The organ has four manuals, one pedalboard, 124 stops and 6718 pipes. The nave's copper roof was replaced in 2011, and in 2015 the tower exterior was re-plated and had its wooden support structure renewed.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Tower cap and weathercock
- The tall tower ends in a lantern, a rounded cap and a thin weathercock. Print friendly adapts the slimmest parts to your print scale; printing slowly with good cooling helps the top hold its shape.
- Finials and tall windows
- Small pointed finials line the nave roof, and the walls carry slim arched windows. Full detail keeps them on a larger print, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep them crisp.
- One piece with the ground
- Riga Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Riga Cathedral takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Riga Cathedral is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Riga Cathedral STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Riga Cathedral grows with the print: about 24 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
