24 mm tall on a 160 mm print

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A tall tower with many windows

The tower is tall, with a dense grid of window recesses. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps those lines crisp, and printing slowly helps the tall shape.

  2. Rooftop boxes and a low wing

The top has several small boxes, and a low wing joins the tower by a narrow link. Print friendly adapts these small parts to your print scale; Full detail keeps them.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Russian Mission Residency is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Russian Mission Residency takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Russian Mission Residency

Housing for diplomatic staff of Russia's foreign ministry, the Russian Mission Residency stands in Riverdale, a community in the Bronx, New York City. It is tied to Russia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations and run by that ministry.

The land had earlier belonged to Robert Weinberg, who in 1967 wanted to build an 18-story apartment tower there for tenants of middle and low income. Protests from affluent neighbors stopped that plan, and the land stayed empty until the Soviet Union bought it in December 1971 for $900,000. Bids for the first design, by Pomerance & Breines, came in with a lowest bid of around $9 million, so those plans were dropped.

In 1974 the 20-story residence was built with a top-down method from International Environmental Dynamics, with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill as architects and Tishman Construction as builder. Prefabricated floors were hoisted into place starting with the 20th floor and ending with the first. Sixteen floors hold 240 apartments. The lowest three floors contain a gymnasium, a theater, an auditorium, a school, stores and an underground garage for 100 cars.
