11 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Tall crowned corner tower
A tall tower with a crown of small arches and turrets rises at one corner. Print slowly with good cooling, and use a larger print size or Full detail so the crown stays crisp.
- Round windows and arches
The front has large round windows and rows of narrow arches. A layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm keeps them crisp; Print friendly thickens the finest tracery for small prints.
- One piece with the ground
The Salem United Methodist Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Salem United Methodist Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Salem United Methodist Church
Salem United Methodist Church, formerly the Salem Methodist Episcopal Church, stands in Harlem in Upper Manhattan. Saint Mark's Methodist Episcopal Church started it in 1881 as a mission, Salem Chapel, and in 1924 the congregation moved to 129th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard. In 1923 the church paid $258,500 to Calvary Methodist Episcopal Church for its building on Seventh Avenue.
Reverend Frederick Asbury Cullen joined the chapel in 1902 as assistant pastor, and the mission gained independent status in 1908. In 1911 he started an athletic club, the Salem-Crescent Athletic Club, that gave local youths a chance to take part in track and field, and the church backed over 20 organizations. The congregation had passed 600 members by the early 1920s.
The building dates from 1887 and is Richardsonian Romanesque in style, designed by John Rochester Thomas. Calvary Methodist Episcopal Church first built it, then later moved to the Bronx. William McKinley, then President, attended a Sunday service there on April 30, 1899. Singer Marian Anderson was among later congregants, as was Countee Cullen, a poet of the Harlem Renaissance, who married Yolande Du Bois there on Easter Monday 1928. Its National Register of Historic Places listing, dated May 16, 2016, carries the name Calvary Methodist Episcopal Church.
