Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Detail for a church model
The basilica is a compact church model in a city block. Print friendly adapts small details to the print scale; Full detail suits a larger print or a finer nozzle.
- Thin layers for upright walls
Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the vertical walls crisp, and slower printing helps the narrow sections.
- One piece with the ground
San Giorgio Maggiore, Naples is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. San Giorgio Maggiore, Naples takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About San Giorgio Maggiore, Naples
The basilica of San Giorgio Maggiore stands in central Naples, Italy, where Via Vicaria Vecchia meets Via Duomo. San Severo al Pendino stands diagonally opposite the church's apse. A church was built on the site by the 4th century and was first known as la severiana, after San Severo, bishop of Naples. The present name comes from the 9th century and honors a warrior who was martyred fighting the Lombards.
A fire damaged part of it in 1640; Cosimo Fanzago drew up the rebuilding plans and reversed the church's orientation. The present doorway occupies what was once the apse of the earliest church. After an earthquake in 1694 the church was rebuilt again. Fanzago also moved some granite columns here from Santa Maria degli Angeli alle Croci, a nearby church. In the 19th century, as streets in Naples were widened, the right-hand nave was removed to make room for Via Duomo.
Near the lateral door is a marble seat made from spolia that belonged to Saint Severus, the founder of the church. Inside, left of the main altar, are frescoes by a young Solimena. There is also a Byzantine-style painting, a 13th-century wooden crucifix, the relics of Saint Severus, and canvases by Camillo Lionti and by Francesco Peresi.
