10 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A basilica at print scale
A large basilica reads best at a larger print size, where the roofline and the ends of the building stay distinct. At smaller sizes, Print friendly adapts thin parts to the scale.
- One piece with the ground
San Lorenzo fuori le mura is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. San Lorenzo fuori le mura takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About San Lorenzo fuori le mura
San Lorenzo fuori le mura is a papal minor basilica and parish church of the Roman Catholic Church in Rome, Italy. It is one of Rome's seven pilgrim churches and counts as one of the five papal basilicas, and its care was given to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Lawrence, one of Rome's first seven deacons, was martyred in 258, and the church is the shrine of his tomb. Pope Pius IX lies buried there along with many saints, at the center of an ancient burial complex covering a large area.
Tradition holds that Lawrence was buried there in 258, and the Emperor Constantine I built a basilica over the grave. Pope Damasus I had served at the church as a deacon and later restored or rebuilt it, and Pope Pelagius II commissioned a church on the site in the 580s. During the 13th century Pope Honorius III put up a second church in front of the older building, though the two do not line up perfectly. The portico, from about 1220, has Cosmatesque work by the Vassalletto family; the campanile dates from the 12th century.
The triumphal arch carries 6th-century Byzantine mosaics of Christ with saints, and the confessio under the high altar enshrines Lawrence and Stephen. An inscription on the papal altar behind the high altar names the Cosmati family and dates it to 1148. American planes bombed the basilica in 1943 during the Second World War; work to restore it lasted until 1948 and the brick facade was entirely rebuilt. The church adjoins the Campo Verano cemetery, which brings it a large number of funerals.
