Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Façade statues and cornices
The baroque façade carries statues, cornices and window surrounds at a small scale. Print friendly adapts these details to the print size; Full detail keeps them for a larger print or a finer nozzle.
- Small details at scale
Statues and moldings shrink quickly at small print sizes. A larger print keeps them readable; at the default size, Print friendly gives the cleanest result.
- One piece with the ground
San Silvestro in Capite is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. San Silvestro in Capite takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About San Silvestro in Capite
San Silvestro in Capite is a minor basilica and titular church of the Roman Catholic Church in Rome, named for Pope Sylvester I, who died in AD 335. It stands on Piazza San Silvestro, where Via del Gambero and Via della Mercede meet, next to the central Post Office. The words "in capite" refer to the pope's canonical title, meaning "first", "chief" or "head".
The original church was built in the 8th century with an adjoining Basilian monastery, on the site of a pagan temple to Sol Invictus, to hold relics of early Christian saints buried in the catacombs. In 1198, under Pope Innocent III, the church was rebuilt; the campanile with its Romanesque arcades was added, and Innocent moved the relic of John the Baptist's head there. In 1591–1601 the church was rebuilt again by Francesco Capriani da Volterra, working with Carlo Maderno.
The basilica keeps a fragment of a head said to be John the Baptist's, in a chapel left of the entrance. It serves as Great Britain's national church in Rome and was granted to English Catholics in 1890; Mass is regularly celebrated in English. The façade, completed in 1703, has a giant order topped by four baroque statues depicting Sylvester, Stephen, Clare and Francis.
