109 m of Sofitel New York Hotel, 30 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Curved terraces and round top
The tower steps in and carries curved balcony bands and a round drum at the top. Print friendly adapts thin parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them for larger prints. Print slowly near the top.
- Tall, slim, closely hemmed in
Taller buildings stand close on several sides, so the hotel reads as a narrow tower. A larger print size and 0.12–0.16 mm layers help keep its stepped profile crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Sofitel New York Hotel is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Sofitel New York Hotel takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Sofitel New York Hotel
In Midtown Manhattan, on West 44th Street, stands Sofitel New York, a boutique hotel that Sofitel itself owns and manages. Bryant Park lies two blocks to the south, along with the Main Branch of the New York Public Library, and the New York Yacht Club Building is next door. French traditions inspire its furnishings and theme, and its staff speak both French and English.
Construction began in 1997, and the limestone and glass tower opened in 2000. It rises 358 feet (109 m) across 30 stories and has 398 guest rooms, 52 of them suites. Brennan Beer Gorman created the design, with a T-shaped base, after an architectural competition whose entrants included Michael Graves & Associates; the International Monetary Fund was reportedly behind the funding. The facade draws on Parisian Moderne limestone buildings, and its bronze facade depicts three flying geese above a large portal. DeSimone Consulting Engineers handled the structure, and the building won the 2000 Emporis Skyscraper Award.
