7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Richly detailed front
The front facade carries a round window, a pointed arched doorway and sculpted reliefs. Print friendly adapts these to the print scale; Full detail keeps more of them on a larger print, and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the edges crisp.
- Long ribbed roof
The long roof has a row of shallow ridges. A larger print size keeps these ridges visible, and a fine layer height gives a cleaner roof surface.
- One piece with the ground
St. Aloysius Catholic Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Aloysius Catholic Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. Aloysius Catholic Church
St. Aloysius is a Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of New York. Its church is in Harlem, Manhattan, on West 132nd Street (numbers 209-217), in the block running from Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard to Frederick Douglass Boulevard. Builders worked in 1902-04 from a plan by William W. Renwick, who was a nephew of James Renwick Jr., and the style is Italian Gothic Revival. New York City designated the church a landmark on January 30, 2007.
The facade is intricate, with bands of red brick, celadon glazed brick and polychrome terra cotta, and sculpted reliefs show Christ and the Holy Family, along with two angels. Its design compares favorably with another Renwick work, All Saints Church, which stands at East 129th Street, and may reflect his travels in Italy before he joined his uncle's firm.
Founded in 1899, the St. Aloysius congregation has been served by Jesuit Fathers, the order to which Saint Aloysius Gonzaga himself belonged. It was first made up mainly of immigrants from Germany, Ireland and Italy, along with their families. The congregation is primarily African American, gospel music is part of the services, and Congressman Charles Rangel served as an altar boy there and was a lifelong member.
