8 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Small church, big neighbors
The church is small next to the tall buildings around it. A larger print size or Full detail keeps more of its small details from washing out.
- One piece with the ground
St. Andrew Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Andrew Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. Andrew Church
St. Andrew's is a Roman Catholic parish church of the Archdiocese of New York, at 20 Cardinal Hayes Place in Manhattan. The parish was established in 1842. Maginnis & Walsh and Robert J. Reiley worked together on the present building, erected in 1939 in the Georgian Revival style.
Rev. Andrew Byrne founded the parish. Local Catholics bought the former Universalist Church, called Carroll Hall, and Bishop John Hughes dedicated it on March 19, 1842. Street improvements in 1858 removed so much of the old building that the parish had to buy the neighboring lot, and the remodeled church was dedicated on October 20, 1861.
Its Printers' Mass earned it the nickname "The Printers' Church". Father Luke Evers started the Mass, celebrated on Sunday mornings at 2:30 a.m. with the approval of Pope Leo XIII. It let Catholic workers from nearby Printing House Square, home to several newspapers of the time, meet their Sunday obligation as they headed home after Saturday night's press runs. The practice lasted more than 50 years.
