6 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Square tower and gabled roof
The projecting tower and the steep roof are the main shapes on this model, with small details on top. Print friendly adapts small parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
- Tall arched windows
Narrow arched windows run along the long side walls. A layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm keeps them crisp.
- One piece with the ground
St. Augustine's Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Augustine's Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. Augustine's Church
The church of St. Augustine, found at 290 Henry Street between Montgomery Street and Jackson Street, lies on Manhattan's Lower East Side. All Saints' Free Church (founded in 1819) and St. Augustine's Chapel joined together to form it, and the congregation uses the former All Saints' building, built between 1827 and 1829.
Its roots lie in a mission started in 1819 near the old Grand Street Ferry by students from the General Theological Seminary. Marinus Willett, a former mayor, led it as it grew, and it became a parish in 1824. "Free" in the name of All Saints' Free Church meant free of pew rent. The walls are Manhattan schist, and some of the field stone came from a hill that was being leveled nearby. Bishop John Henry Hobart consecrated the church in 1828.
John Heath is credited with the plans for a Georgian building with Gothic windows, including a double pediment and a tower that projects. Edgar Allan Poe attended now and then in the early years. A sanctuary and chancel were added in 1848. Then in 1949 it joined with St. Augustine's Chapel, part of Trinity Church, and in 1976 the parish became independent of Trinity. New York City named the building a landmark in 1966, and its National Register of Historic Places listing came in 1980.
