7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A long curved roofline
The shrine has a gently curved roof and a tall cross on its tower. Use 0.12-0.16 mm layers to keep the curve smooth, and print slowly for the cross.
- One piece with the ground
The St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Shrine is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Shrine takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Shrine
In Upper Manhattan’s Washington Heights, in the Hudson Heights area, the shrine to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini has the address 701 Fort Washington Avenue, with a facade on Cabrini Boulevard. It lies between West 190th Street and Fort Tryon Park. Known as Mother Cabrini (1850-1917), she was canonized in 1946, the first American citizen to be so recognized by the Roman Catholic Church.
Her body lay in a rural grave until 1933, when it was taken to a chapel at Mother Cabrini High School in Manhattan. In 1959 it was moved again to the shrine, which was built next to the school in 1957-1960 to hold larger crowds of pilgrims. Her remains lie in a reliquary casket of bronze and glass in the altar.
The architectural firm of Fabian Zaccone designed the shrine as a horizontal parabolic arch. It has prominent stained glass, a bright mosaic mural depicting her life, and mementos of hers, including a horse carriage. The shrine also holds a pipe organ built by Crema, Lombardy’s Tamburini Organ Company, with 1,747 pipes arranged in 29 ranks, with 27 stops and 2 manuals. To mark her beatification in 1938, the street to the west became Cabrini Boulevard.
