- Small building, small details
This is a small church, so its pointed windows and gable trim are tiny. A larger print size keeps more of them, and a layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps them crisp.
- Ornamental gable trim
Decorative trim edges the gable ends and a slim chimney rises beside the roof. Print friendly adapts thin parts to your print scale, while Full detail keeps them.
- One piece with the ground
St. James Church, Queens is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. James Church, Queens takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. James Church, Queens
Also known as the Old St. James Church, a name that sets it apart from St. James Episcopal Church, which is two blocks away, this historic Episcopal church stands at 86-02 Broadway in Elmhurst, Queens. It is the oldest surviving Anglican building in the city, as well as its oldest surviving Church of England mission church.
Founded in 1704, the Mission Church at Newtowne began as a mission from a Jamaica, Queens, parish. Construction of the Newtown building took place in 1735 and 1736, and the parish became independent in 1761. Services continued there until the congregation moved to a newer church nearby in 1848, after which the old structure served as a parish building. Repairs and expansions came repeatedly across the 18th and 19th centuries, with a major expansion in 1883.
Its design is English Colonial, with the original main section joined by a rear section from 1883. Extensive carving and other decorative woodwork fill the interior. Until 1941 the old building served as both Sunday school and parish hall. Since then several community groups have used it, and it was restored in 2004. The National Register of Historic Places listed it in 1999, and the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission named it a city landmark in 2017.
