91 m of St. Mary's Church, Berlin, 25 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Tall church tower
A church tower is usually the tallest, thinnest part. Printing slowly with good cooling helps the tallest part, and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps vertical detail crisp.
- One piece with the ground
St. Mary's Church, Berlin is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Mary's Church, Berlin takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. Mary's Church, Berlin
St. Mary's Church (the Marienkirche in German) stands on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, close to Alexanderplatz in central Berlin. Together with the Nikolaikirche, it is the oldest church in Berlin. Its exact age is not known, but its origins are presumed to lie earlier in the 13th century, and German chronicles mention it in 1292.
The oldest parts are granite, yet most of the church is brick, which gives it a characteristic bright red look. The nearby Rotes Rathaus was deliberately built to copy that appearance. It was a Roman Catholic church at first and has been Lutheran Protestant since the Reformation in 1539. It is listed at 91 m in height.
Allied bombs heavily damaged the church in World War II, and East German authorities restored it in the 1950s. Much of the building is modern restoration work from the late 19th century and the post-war period. Since the war, the church has stood in the open spaces around Alexanderplatz, overshadowed by the Fernsehturm, the East Berlin television tower. A statue of Martin Luther stands outside, and the interior holds the tomb of Otto Christoph von Sparr.
