8 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Onion domes and thin crosses
Small onion domes carry slender crosses on thin spikes. Print friendly adapts thin parts to your print scale; Full detail keeps them, better at a larger size and printed slowly.
- Hidden among taller blocks
Only the domes show above the neighboring buildings. A larger print size keeps more of their shape.
- One piece with the ground
St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral
In Manhattan's Upper East Side, St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral acts as the administrative hub of the USA's Russian Orthodox Patriarchal Parishes. A congregation formed on Second Avenue in the early 1890s, and a building fund for a new church was started in 1899, with seed money from Czar Nicholas.
The cathedral was designed by John Bergesen, an architect born in Finland, and finished at 15 East 97th Street in 1902. The first ceremony took place on July 20, 1902, led by Tikhon, who was at that time the Orthodox Bishop of North America. From 1903 on, it has been the headquarters of Russian Orthodoxy in the United States. In 1973 the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission designated it an official landmark.
