7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Small bell tower and cross
The slim bell tower and cross at one end are the most delicate parts. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail suits a larger print. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the cross crisp.
- Rows of roof dormers
The steep roofs carry several small dormers. A larger print size keeps their outlines readable, and printing the upper roof slowly helps the small pointed shapes cool cleanly.
- One piece with the ground
St. Philip Neri's Church, Bronx is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Philip Neri's Church, Bronx takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About St. Philip Neri's Church, Bronx
St. Philip Neri's is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Bronx's Bedford Park, standing on the Grand Concourse's west side where it meets East 202nd Street. It answers to the Archdiocese of New York. The Rev. Daniel Burke set up the parish in April 1898 for about 1,200 Italian laborers, at a time when he was building the nearby Jerome Park Reservoir.
The neo-Gothic design in stone was finished in 1899, with its dedication following in May 1900. The first parishioners were Italian immigrants who labored on the reservoir project; after their shifts they hauled stone quarried there to the church site and built the church from it. Later the congregation was largely Irish, and it has also included many Hispanic and Asian members and African-Americans.
A major fire on June 15, 1997, in the evening and thought to have begun in the sacristy, destroyed the slate roof and left the sanctuary gutted. Rebuilding restored the church to its earlier form with a handful of improvements: the high original ceiling, hidden during an earlier renovation, was opened up, and new stained-glass dormer windows went into the roof. Edward Cardinal Egan dedicated the rebuilt 650-seat church on January 6, 2002.
