About Summerlin Hospital

Universal Health Services owns the Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, which the Valley Health System operates. It is a private, for-profit hospital within Las Vegas's Summerlin neighborhood, in Nevada. The campus, 40 acres (16 ha) in size, also holds two medical office towers that offer outpatient services of several kinds.

The hospital opened on October 16, 1997, after an initial investment of $80 million, with 148 beds, all in private rooms. The plan included a hospital-based cancer treatment facility described as the first and only one in Southern Nevada.

A wing for the intensive care unit opened in December 1999 within a $1.5 million expansion. A pediatric emergency department opened in June 2005, and construction of a five-story parking garage began in 2006. In March 2007 a $100 million expansion was announced because of high demand. Its final phase, a patient facility six stories tall that added 180 rooms, bringing the total to 480, broke ground on June 25, 2008. The finished project, in December 2009, had more than 480 beds, a larger Emergency Department and Labor and Delivery unit, a second medical office building, another parking garage and a newly built Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 9 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 12 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 15 mm 1:2,344

Wings at different heights
Several wings spread out from the center at different heights. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the stepped rooflines crisp.
Window grids and rooftop units
Window grids on the taller wings and small rooftop units are fine details. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
One piece with the ground
Summerlin Hospital is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Summerlin Hospital takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions

Is there a Summerlin Hospital STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Summerlin Hospital grows with the print: about 9 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
