3 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Crow-stepped gables
The stepped gable edges and small tower are fine details. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps every step, best on a larger print with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
- One piece with the ground
Sunnyside, Tarrytown is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Sunnyside, Tarrytown takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Sunnyside, Tarrytown
Built in 1835, Sunnyside is a historic house on 10 acres (4 ha) in Tarrytown, New York, on the bank of the Hudson River. Washington Irving, the American author, made it his home. He is best known for his short stories, including "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (1820) and "Rip Van Winkle" (1819).
The cottage-like estate became a National Historic Landmark in 1962. Its design blends influences from Tudor Revival, Scottish Gothic and Dutch Colonial Revival styles. Two features of the house stand out: the wisteria-covered entrance and a jagged, crow-stepped gable.
The land has a long past. Wolfert Acker, a Dutch-American resident of the region, owned property called Wolfert's Roost, part of the Manor of Philipsburg, which included a plain stone farmhouse with two rooms, built about 1650 for tenants. The Van Tassel family owned it until 1802, when the family of Benson Ferris received a deed to 150 acres (61 ha). Irving visited his nephew Oscar Irving in 1832; Oscar lived close to the old stone farmhouse. A trip through the prairies, and the frontier lifestyle he saw there, left him regretting that he had no home of his own.
