Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Round walls, no corners

The model is a single round mass, so the curve is the feature to watch. A larger print keeps the wall smooth, and 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers hold the vertical edges.

  2. A low drum, flat top

There is no spire or tower here; the model is a low drum closing at a flat top. Slow the last layers and keep cooling on, and use Full detail for a large print.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Temple of Hercules Victor is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Temple of Hercules Victor takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Temple of Hercules Victor

In Piazza Bocca della Verità, in what was the Forum Boarium, stands the Temple of Hercules Victor, also called Hercules Olivarius. Round in plan, it is a tholos of Greek peripteral type, with columns encircling it completely. Because of that form people long took it for a temple of Vesta, until Camille de Tournon, Napoleon's Prefect of Rome, settled its identity.

Its date is the later 2nd century BC. Two possible builders are recorded: L. Mummius Achaicus, who beat the Achaeans, and Marcus Octavius Herrenus, a trader giving thanks for success in business. It measures 14.8 m across, a circular cella inside a ring of twenty Corinthian columns, each 10.66 m high, standing on a tuff foundation. The architrave and roof have vanished, nineteen columns of the twenty remain, and the tiles overhead are a later addition.

Rome has no older marble building that survives so nearly whole, and none other of Greek marble. It was converted into a church by 1132, as Santo Stefano alle Carozze, and rededicated in the 17th century as Santa Maria del Sole. Along with the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli, it helped inspire Bramante's Tempietto and other centrally planned churches of the High Renaissance. The ground around it was lowered between 1809 and 1810.
