Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Deep courtyard and small rooftop boxes

The block is hollow around a courtyard, with small boxes on the roof. Print friendly adapts those small details to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print with a 0.12–0.16 mm layer height.

  2. One piece with the ground

The The Belnord is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The The Belnord takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the The Belnord

Hiss and Weekes designed The Belnord in the Italian Renaissance Revival style. The 13-story condominium building fills an entire block of the Upper West Side, with its address at 225 West 86th Street, with Broadway on one side, Amsterdam Avenue on another, and 86th and 87th Streets on the other two.

A group of investors built it in 1908 and 1909 as a rental apartment building. Finished in October 1909, it was called the largest apartment building in the United States. Limestone and brick form the facade, which is split horizontally into three parts. Two arches in the middle of the 86th Street side lead into a courtyard holding a garden, a driveway and the apartment entrances.

Six entrances each lead to a separate group of apartments. At the start there were 175 apartments in the Louis XVI style, plus a mechanical plant in the basement and amenities that included horse stables and storage rooms. The Belnord has New York City landmark designation and a National Register of Historic Places listing.
