91 m of The Century, 29 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Twin stepped towers
Two towers with stepped tops rise side by side. Print slowly with good cooling, and use a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm to keep the steps crisp.
- Detailed base and terraces
The lower floors carry many windows, terraces and small ornaments. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on larger prints.
- One piece with the ground
The Century is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Century takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About The Century
The Century occupies 25 Central Park West, filling the stretch from 62nd Street to 63rd Street beside Central Park, on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Irwin S. Chanin's firm designed it in the Art Deco style, and it was built in 1930–1931 for $6.5 million. It has 30 stories: twin towers climb from a 19-story base. Final completion came at the close of December 1931.
Around an interior courtyard on the west side, the lowest 19 stories form the base; the eastern part carries two towers. Ochre stone clads the lowest level and most of the next one, above a pink granite water table, and the rest is mostly tan brick with multi-paned windows. Shallow bow windows face Central Park West, and enclosed solariums sit at the northeast and southeast corners. Several cantilevered terraces have Art Deco balustrades.
Its site was previously the Century Theatre, first called the New Theatre, which opened in 1909 with a design by Carrère and Hastings. At first the Century ran almost as a hotel for short stays, with housekeeping and catering, and held 417 apartments and 1,688 rooms. Irwin Chanin himself lived there for more than half a century, and the conversion of most of the building to condominiums came in 1989. It counts as a contributing property in the Central Park West Historic District and holds New York City landmark designation.
About this model
The Century is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
