29 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Twin towers with tall piers
Two slim towers with vertical piers rise side by side from the base. Print friendly adapts the thin piers to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on larger prints.
- Stepped terraces and setbacks
Many small terraces and ledges step back up the base. A bigger print size and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm help keep these small steps readable.
- One piece with the ground
The The Majestic is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The The Majestic takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the The Majestic
Known as both The Majestic and the Majestic Apartments, this cooperative building occupies 115 Central Park West, in the stretch between 71st and 72nd Streets on Manhattan's Upper West Side. It was built in 1930 and 1931 in the Art Deco style, to a design by Irwin S. Chanin's firm. Twin towers rise above a 19-story base.
An internal courtyard sits inside the base on the west side, and two towers climb from its eastern portion. From the 14th story the building steps back, with terraces behind metal railings. Cast stone covers the lowest three stories, above which the facade is brick, with windows of many panes. Irwin Chanin worked on the design with Jacques Delamarre, and the futuristic facade sculptures are by Rene Chambellan.
The Majestic is a contributing part of the Central Park West Historic District and also holds New York City landmark designation. It opened on October 1, 1931. In its early years it functioned like a short-stay hotel, offering housekeeping and catering, and it later turned into a housing cooperative.
