15 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Tall, narrow tower
This is a tall, narrow building squeezed between neighbors. Printing slowly with good cooling helps the upper floors, and a layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm keeps the vertical window lines crisp.
- Domed corner cupola
The small domed cupola on the rounded corner is a fine rounded detail. Print friendly adapts it at small sizes, and Full detail keeps it on larger prints.
- One piece with the ground
The NoMad is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The NoMad takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About The NoMad
The NoMad combined a hotel and a restaurant under the Sydell Group, in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan. The building is at 1170 Broadway, where 28th Street meets Broadway at the southeast corner. It was constructed in 1902-03 for stores and offices, and Schickel & Ditmars designed it in the Beaux Arts style. Its first name, the Johnston building, came from original owner Caroline H. Johnston.
Twelve stories tall, the building has a limestone exterior and five bays on each side. At its rounded north-facing corner bay sits a domed cupola. The facade features paired windows over a three-story base, and the arched entranceway is decorated with carved lions, festoons and a scrolled keystone. Jacques Garcia, a French architect, designed the interior.
The NoMad restaurant, which opened in 2012, earned one Michelin star. Daniel Humm, a chef, and Will Guidara, a restaurateur, came up with it. The building is a contributing property in the Madison Square North Historic District, which is a New York City Landmark. In March 2021 the hotel closed for good.
About this model
The NoMad is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
