About the The Orleans

Paradise, Nevada, is home to The Orleans, a hotel with a casino that sits about 1.3 km (0.8 miles) west of the Las Vegas Strip. Tourists visit in decent numbers, especially for the Mr. Olympia contest, but the resort is mainly regarded as a casino for local residents.

Opening day was December 18, 1996, on 88 acres, with 840 hotel rooms and a price tag of $173 million. Early results fell short of expectations, and in 1999 the casino was enlarged and other amenities arrived. A second hotel tower came in 2004, one year after the Orleans Arena.

The arena is a big multipurpose venue with room for 9,000 attendees, and it can be turned into an ice rink. From 2003 until 2014 it was home ice for the Las Vegas Wranglers, who played minor league hockey in the ECHL. Comedian George Carlin gave his final concert at the resort on June 15, 2008. Other amenities include a bowling center with 52 lanes and a poker room with 34 tables.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 750 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 16 mm 1:4,688
200 mm 20 mm 1:3,750
256 mm 26 mm 1:2,930

Wide, low footprint
The resort spreads over a long, low footprint with a taller hotel tower and many small rooftop boxes. A larger print size helps those small details survive.
Parking lots and road grid
Thin road and parking-lot lines surround the building. Layers of 0.12-0.16 mm keep them crisp.
One piece with the ground
The The Orleans is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The The Orleans takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

The The Orleans is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a The Orleans STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. The The Orleans grows with the print: about 16 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
