6 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Twin spires with turrets
Two slim spires with turrets flank the front. They are the thinnest parts; Print friendly adapts them, and slow printing with cooling near the tips helps.
- Gothic windows and steep roof
Tall pointed windows and a steep roof carry fine lines. A larger print with Full detail, at 0.12–0.16 mm layers, keeps them crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Trinity Lutheran Church, Queens is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Trinity Lutheran Church, Queens takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Trinity Lutheran Church, Queens
In Astoria, Queens, New York, Trinity Lutheran Church stands at 31-18 37th Street. John William Cresswell Corbusier designed it, and architect George W. Conable (1866–1933) oversaw the work. It received its cornerstone on October 17, 1926, and was completed on November 13, 1927, by the Rufus H. Brown company as contractor.
The church is a one-story Collegiate Gothic building of Wymouth granite stones. Two spires with ornate turrets frame the front, where a recessed entry sits beneath a large window. Inside, the plan is Gothic, with a nave and transepts. The National Register of Historic Places listed it in 2008, and it is also a state landmark.
A 1927 Skinner pipe organ belongs to the church, which also has a handbell choir. From 2008 to 2015 the church hosted the NYC Musical Saw Festival. At the seventh festival, on July 18, 2009, 53 sawists played together on the altar, setting a Guinness World Record: the largest musical saw ensemble.
