About the UniCredit Tower

The UniCredit Tower, or Torre UniCredit in Italian, is an office skyscraper at Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan, Italy. Counting its spire, it stands 238 m (781 ft) tall, the highest building in Italy by that measure; measured to the roof, the Allianz Tower is higher, at 210 m (690 ft). The tower houses the headquarters of UniCredit and belongs to a bigger complex of new residential and commercial buildings in the Porta Nuova district of Milan, close to Porta Garibaldi railway station.

César Pelli designed the building, and Hines Italy and COIMA developed it. It reached its full height on October 15, 2011, the day the spire was attached. The spire is around 80.5 meters tall and entirely covered with LED lights, with continuous night lighting. Its colors can be varied according to the event: at Christmas 2013 it glowed green to represent a Christmas tree, and the Italian flag is one of the usual displays.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 59 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 74 mm 1:3,000

A needle-thin spire
The spire is a long, thin needle on top of the curved tower. Print slowly with good cooling; Print friendly adapts it to the print scale, while Full detail keeps the full point on a larger print.
Fine facade lines
The curved facade is cut by fine horizontal and vertical lines. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep them crisp, and Print friendly may merge the finest lines on a small print.
One piece with the ground
The UniCredit Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The UniCredit Tower takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

The UniCredit Tower is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a UniCredit Tower STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. The UniCredit Tower grows with the print: about 59 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
