10 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Stepped upper floors
The upper floors step back into smaller boxes with a small chimney on the roof. Print friendly keeps these steps clear; Full detail keeps window and trim relief, best at a larger print size.
- One piece with the ground
The Union Temple of Brooklyn is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Union Temple of Brooklyn takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Union Temple of Brooklyn
In Brooklyn's Prospect Heights neighborhood, at 17 Eastern Parkway on the block that runs from Underhill Avenue to Plaza Street East, stood Union Temple, a Reform Jewish synagogue. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Public Library are all across the street. In 1921 it was formed when K. K. Beth Elohim merged with Temple Israel, two congregations dating from the nineteenth century.
Architect Arnold Brunner planned the building, finished in 1929 as a community house for a temple that was meant to rise next door. The Great Depression meant that temple was never built, and worship has taken place in the 11-story community house ever since, apart from High Holy Days in the past, when it used the Brooklyn Academy of Music instead. A theater on the ground floor became a sanctuary in 1942, modeled on the old synagogue in Essen, Germany.
German and Alsatian Jewish immigrants in the village of Williamsburgh founded K. K. Beth Elohim in 1848, and it became the first Jewish congregation set up in Brooklyn and also the first on Long Island. Temple Israel was founded in 1869. The National Register of Historic Places listed the building in 2015, and in 2021 the congregation merged with Congregation Beth Elohim.
