Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Columned entrance
The entrance has a row of slim columns, the finest detail on an otherwise plain block. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; a bigger print and Full detail keep them distinct.
- One piece with the ground
United States Post Office, Larchmont is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. United States Post Office, Larchmont takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About United States Post Office, Larchmont
Larchmont, New York, has a post office put up in 1937 as part of a federal building program begun in 1853 by the Supervising Architect's office in the Treasury Department. William Dewey Foster, a consulting architect, designed it in Colonial Revival, the most popular style for New York post offices after World War I.
Between 1932 and 1942 many post offices and other federal buildings went up in New York, partly to give work to architects, engineers, artists and other construction workers left jobless by the Great Depression. The economic climate called for functional design with restrained ornament.
Two realistic murals of Larchmont scenes were commissioned by the Section of Painting and Sculpture, part of the Treasury Department, from landscape artist Thomas H. Donnelly and unveiled in 1939; they show the Larchmont Manor House and the Larchmont Yacht Club. Its National Register of Historic Places listing came through a Multiple Property Submission covering about 80 Colonial Revival buildings.
