3 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Slender portico columns
The recessed entrance has tall, slender columns above a flight of steps. Print friendly adapts thin columns to the print scale; Full detail on a larger print keeps them, and a 0.12–0.16 mm layer height keeps them crisp.
- One piece with the ground
United States Post Office, Scarsdale is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. United States Post Office, Scarsdale takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About United States Post Office, Scarsdale
The post office in Scarsdale, in Westchester County, New York, dates from 1937. Schultze and Weaver, working as consulting architects, designed it on behalf of the Office of the Supervising Architect. Red brick with limestone trim gives it a Classical Revival look, and the massing is symmetrical: a central section two stories high between single-story wings.
A recessed limestone portico, three bays wide, forms the front, resting on a pair of tall, slender Doric columns. The lobby has two murals by Gordon Samstag, including one about Caleb Heathcote buying the Richbell Farm and another, “Law and Order in Old Scarsdale.” The building received its National Register listing in 1989.
