  1. Pilasters and roofline railing

The street fronts carry rows of narrow pilasters and a railing along the roofline. A larger print or Full detail keeps them; Print friendly adapts them to the print scale.

  2. One piece with the ground

The United States Post Office, Yonkers is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The United States Post Office, Yonkers takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the United States Post Office, Yonkers

The post office in Yonkers, New York, is a two-story stone building put up in the late 1920s, standing on Main Street downtown across from the city's train station. Its Classical Revival design carries touches of the then-emerging Art Deco style. In 1989 the National Register of Historic Places listed it, one of many historic post offices in New York State to be added at that time.

William Gibbs McAdoo, the Secretary of the Treasury, picked the site himself. The Office of the Supervising Architect, part of the Treasury Department, produced the design under James A. Wetmore, as it did for many other post offices. Standing in a growing city, the building is bigger than most post offices of its era.

A steel frame supports the two stories, which are faced in smooth buff limestone and capped by a flat roof. The south front, on Main Street, is 15 bays wide. Flat Corinthian pilasters divide the bays, and a balustraded parapet and a toothed cornice run along the roofline.
