5 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Gables, towers and chimneys
The roofline is busy with half-timbered gables, small crenellated towers and many chimneys. Print friendly simplifies the smallest ones at small scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
- Long block with courtyards
The complex is a long, irregular block with recessed courtyards. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the wall detail crisp.
- One piece with the ground
United Workers Cooperatives is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. United Workers Cooperatives takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About United Workers Cooperatives
Also known as Allerton Coops, United Workers Cooperatives is a historic apartment complex on Bronx Park East (numbers 2700–2870) in the Allerton section of the Bronx. The United Workers' Association built the Tudor Revival buildings in two phases, 1926–1927 and 1927–1929. Details include half-timbered gables, half-timbered bands under sloping slate roofs, picturesque chimneys, and towers that are corbelled and crenellated. The complex has three contributing buildings plus five contributing structures.
The association built the complex as an early and important example of cooperative housing for the working class. Its members sought to improve their living standards. The members bought land in 1925 in an undeveloped part of the Bronx close to Bronx Park, and planned a community in which every resident had an equal say, whatever the size or price of their apartment.
Classrooms, a library and other amenities, uncommon in cooperatives built for profit, were part of it. It also had a non-eviction policy, which gave residents greater security during the Great Depression, and it was racially integrated. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 11, 1986.
