17 m of the West Bank Light, 5 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Slim tower and railed balconies
Railings circle the balconies and a small lantern tops the tower. Print friendly adapts these thin parts to the print scale; slow printing with good cooling helps the top.
- Round tower body
The tower is a smooth round shape with small openings. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps its curves and openings clean.
- One piece with the ground
The West Bank Light is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The West Bank Light takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the West Bank Light
Officially named West Bank Front Range Light, this lighthouse stands in Lower New York Bay, inside the boundaries of New York City. It is the front range light of the Ambrose Channel, paired with Staten Island Light as the rear range light. The tower dates from 1901 and was made taller in 1908.
In 2007 the Secretary of the Interior named the light surplus property, citing the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act (2000). Described as 55 feet (17 m) in height, with two floors and a keeper's dwelling, the property's site covers 0.1 acres (0.040 ha), all of it underwater.
The keeper's dwelling is on the second story, roughly five standard stories above the ground, and measured 1,500 square feet (140 m2). The light could be seen from Coney Island's Riegelmann Boardwalk in Brooklyn, and from South Beach, Staten Island.
About this model
