9 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Battlemented tower top
The tower ends in a notched, castle-like parapet, with small turrets at the corners. Print friendly adapts these to the print scale; Full detail on a larger print keeps every notch.
- Tall, slim tower
The tower is the thinnest, tallest part. Printing slowly with good cooling helps near the top, and a 0.12–0.16 mm layer height keeps its vertical detail crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The White Plains Armory is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The White Plains Armory takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the White Plains Armory
Located at 65 Mitchell Place and 35 South Broadway in White Plains, Westchester County, New York, this historic building was erected as a National Guard armory. Work began in 1909 and ended in 1910, to plans by state architect Franklin B. Ware. At 31,612 square feet, it sits on three-quarters of an acre.
From 1910 to 1939 the armory housed the 49th Separate Company (also called Company L) of the 10th Infantry Regiment. In April 1924 the New York State Police's Troop K moved in as a temporary headquarters, after a fire on March 3, 1924 at Gedney Farms, and left in November 1929 once a new headquarters in Hawthorne was finished. The 106th Infantry Regiment became a later tenant.
On July 11, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was read at the first courthouse, which stood on the site where the armory was later built. The National Register of Historic Places listed the building in 1980. It was vacated in 1977, and in 1982 it became Armory Plaza, housing for seniors with a senior center on its first floor.
