11 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A compact mosque
The mosque is a compact subject at the default print size; a larger print keeps its outline sharp. Use 0.12–0.16 mm layers for clean vertical faces.
- One piece with the ground
The Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque
The Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque is an Ottoman imperial mosque in the Yıldız neighborhood of Istanbul's Beşiktaş district, in Türkiye, on the road to Yıldız Palace. Sultan Abdul Hamid II ordered it, and it was built between 1884 and 1886. It has a rectangular plan and one minaret.
Its design blends Neo-Gothic elements with classical Ottoman motifs. In Marjeh Square in Damascus, Syria, a bronze colonnade put up by Abdul Hamid II carries a replica statue of the mosque on top. In 1905, activists from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation tried to kill the sultan with a horse-carriage bomb outside the mosque; he survived, but 26 people died and 58 were wounded.
The mosque reopened on August 4, 2017, after four years of restoration work. The project cost 27 million Turkish liras, roughly $7.6 million, and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reopened the mosque. The mosque is listed as a Tentative World Heritage Site. It is also classed as a historic building.
