13 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Domes and minaret balconies
The dome, half domes and two minarets carry this building, and the minaret balconies are the first detail to soften at small size. Print larger or choose Full detail, with 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers.
- One piece with the ground
The Yeni Valide Mosque is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Yeni Valide Mosque takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Yeni Valide Mosque
The Yeni Valide Mosque in Istanbul's Üsküdar district is an imperial Ottoman mosque of the 18th century; its Turkish name means New Mother Mosque. It stands south of Üsküdar İskele Square and the Mihrimah Sultan Mosque. Work on the mosque ran from 1708 to 1710 under the administration of the chief architect Kayserili Mehmed Ağa, though his exact role is unclear.
The mosque honors Emetullah Râbi'a Gülnûş Sultan, the mother of Sultan Ahmed III. It was the last of many mosques that royal Ottoman women built in Üsküdar during the Sultanate of Women, and it reflects the political power and patronage of imperial women in the Tulip period. The wider complex included a hünkâr pavilion, an imaret, an arasta, a school, Gülnûş Sultan's tomb and fountains.
Its main body is square in plan, covered by a flattened central dome and four half domes, with two minarets that each have two balconies. The plan is a variant of the Rüstem Pasha Mosque, and the mosque is one of the earliest examples of an 18th-century trend toward higher, narrower domes. Inside are stone carvings, muqarnas and tiles with repeating floral patterns.
