About 26 Broadway

Beside Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan's Financial District stands 26 Broadway, an office building also called the Standard Oil Building or the Socony–Vacuum Building. It is 160 m (520 ft) tall. Thomas Hastings of Carrère and Hastings designed it in the Renaissance Revival style, working with Shreve, Lamb & Blake.

Standard Oil, at that point among the biggest oil firms in the United States, had the original structure built in 1884–1885 as its headquarters, on ground that once held Alexander Hamilton's house. Extensions came in 1895 and again in the years after World War I, with Walter C. Teagle purchasing four adjoining buildings to assemble one continuous lot. A multi-phase construction project in the 1920s then brought the building to its current size, with work running from 1921 to 1928.

The site is a pentagon bounded by Broadway, Bowling Green, Beaver Street, New Street and the axis of Morris Street. The lower sixteen stories cover most of it and are shaped by setbacks, two light courts and a facade that curves along Broadway. Above them rises a twelve-story tower with a stepped pyramid on top. In 1995 the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission made 26 Broadway an official city landmark.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Slim pyramid and finial
The stepped pyramid ends in a slender lantern-like tip. Print friendly adapts it to the print scale; Full detail suits a larger print. Printing the top slowly with good cooling helps.
One piece with the ground
26 Broadway is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 26 Broadway takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
