About 50 United Nations Plaza
This Manhattan residential condominium tower has 44 stories. It comes from the architectural firm of Norman Foster, Foster and Partners, and it was the firm's first residential high-rise in the United States. Sources describe it as holding either 87 or 88 apartments.
In 2007, Zeckendorf Development paid US$160 million for the vacant lot. The Zeckendorf family announced the start of construction on November 14, 2012, with the investor Eyal Ofer as a partner, and the tower was topped out in July 2013.
Several governments have bought homes in the building. They include the government of Qatar, which acquired four apartments in 2015, and New Zealand's foreign affairs ministry, which bought a unit to house its representative at the UN. The United States government also moved its ambassador's residence here; before that it had leased a penthouse at the Waldorf-Astoria.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Slim tower among giants
- The tower is narrow and tall, and larger buildings crowd it on all sides. Print slowly with good cooling, and use a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm to keep its vertical lines crisp.
- Stepped, notched crown
- The top steps in at several levels. Print friendly adapts these small steps to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on larger prints.
- One piece with the ground
- 50 United Nations Plaza is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 50 United Nations Plaza takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
