21 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Slender minarets and dome
Mosque models pair a broad prayer hall with a dome and thin minarets. Print friendly detail adapts the narrow shafts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them for a larger print.
- Dome curve and edge
A mosque dome sits above the main roof. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep its curve smooth, and a larger print preserves the edge around its base.
- One piece with the ground
The Al-Hussein Mosque is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Al-Hussein Mosque takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Al-Hussein Mosque
The Al-Hussein Mosque is a mosque and mausoleum in Cairo, Egypt, close to the Khan el-Khalili bazaar and next to the Al Azhar Mosque. Its shrine holds the tomb of Husayn ibn Ali, first built in 1154. Reconstruction of the mosque and mausoleum came in 1874. The site ranks among the holiest Islamic places in Egypt, and some Shias hold that Husayn's head lies buried on the mosque grounds where the shrine stands.
The building as it stands shows several periods. Bab Al-Akhdar, the south gate, keeps only its lower section from the Fatimid mosque; the Ayyubids added a minaret above it in 1237. The 1874 reconstruction by Isma'il Pasha drew on Gothic Revival ideas, mixing Italian Gothic and Ottoman minaret styles in a scheme described as Islamic eclecticism. A restoration in 1996 placed a replacement dome of steel over the tomb chamber.
Three large canopy umbrellas stand at the mosque; they open mechanically to shade worshippers outdoors from summer sun and winter rain. Beside Ras al-Husayn, a crypt keeps objects believed to have belonged to Muhammad, a piece of a cloak and a lantern holding strands of hair, along with a Quran written out by Ali ibn Abi Talib. Visitors who are not Muslim may not enter, though they can view the building from outside.
