Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Keep the fine details
A small mosque at model scale. Print it larger or choose Full detail so the fine details survive, and use 0.12–0.16 mm layers for crisp edges.
- One piece with the ground
The Aqmar Mosque is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Aqmar Mosque takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Aqmar Mosque
The Aqmar Mosque stands in Cairo, on al-Mu'izz Street, the city's old main avenue and ceremonial center. al-Ma'mun al-Bata'ihi, the Fatimid vizier, built it in 1125 as a neighborhood mosque beside the former caliphal palaces. Its carved exterior and its unusual plan make it a key monument of Fatimid architecture in historic Cairo.
Inside, the hypostyle plan centers on a square courtyard. Rows of four-centered arches divide the roofed areas around it, and the qibla-side prayer hall runs three bays deep against one bay for the courtyard gallery. Shallow brick domes cover the bays, a form not attested in other Fatimid monuments. What makes the plan new is the way the street-facing façade and the qibla-facing interior meet at an angle, with wall thickness varied to keep the inside symmetrical.
No earlier building in Cairo had angled its front to match the street; this mosque did, and it was also the earliest with lavish decoration across its entire façade. Above the entrance, a large pierced medallion carries the names of Muhammad and Ali within a Qur'anic inscription. At the left, a beveled corner with a muqarnas niche above it was meant to let traffic turn more easily. Yalbugha al-Salimi, a Mamluk amir, later restored the mosque and gave it a minaret.
