11 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Slim building among taller ones
In the renders this is a narrow building with taller towers around it. Print at a larger size so the window rows and the roof edge stay readable; Full detail suits a fine nozzle.
- One piece with the ground
The Bergdorf Goodman Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Bergdorf Goodman Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Bergdorf Goodman Building
Albert Buchman and Ely Jacques Kahn designed the Bergdorf Goodman Building, a department store at 754 Fifth Avenue, in Manhattan's Midtown district, between 57th and 58th streets. It was built in 1927 and 1928, originally as seven separate storefronts. It houses the luxury retailer Bergdorf Goodman's women's store, and a Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry store has shared the building since 1940. It carries New York City landmark designation.
Before the store, the Cornelius Vanderbilt II House stood on the site from 1882 to 1927. The developer Frederick Brown bought the land in 1926 and hired Buchman & Kahn. At first Bergdorf Goodman leased only the northernmost storefront. In 1934 the Mutual Life Insurance Company took the storefronts over at a foreclosure auction, and Bergdorf Goodman purchased the northern part of the lot a year later, then the southern part in 1947. The design was meant to recall the old Vanderbilt mansion.
South Dover marble, white with multicolored veins, covers the building, and a green mansard roof tops it. The two end sections rose nine stories, while the center section was originally seven stories tall. The structures first worked as separate stores and have since been joined by ramps. In 1990, once a new men's store had opened across Fifth Avenue, this building became the women's store.
