About Central Park Tower
Central Park Tower stands at 217 West 57th Street, on Billionaires' Row in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, and is a residential supertall skyscraper. Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture designed it, with AAI Architects as architect of record. It has 98 floors above ground and three basement levels, yet its top story is numbered 136, and it reaches 472.4 m (1,550 ft). Only One World Trade Center is taller in New York City, and Central Park Tower is the world's tallest building that is primarily residential.
The developers were Shanghai Municipal Investment Group and Extell Development Company. A large Nordstrom store, opened in 2019, occupies the basement and the first five above-ground stories, and the residential portion holds 179 condominiums. To maximize views of Central Park, the eastern side of the tower has a cantilever that extends 8.5 m (28 ft) out over the Art Students League building. It has been the Guinness World Record holder for the tallest cantilevered building since 2019.
Excavation started in May 2014, and the structure began rising above ground in early 2015. The tower was topped out in September 2019 and completed in 2020, at a total cost of $3 billion. Aluminum and glass form a curtain wall on the upper stories. At street level on 57th and 58th, fluted glass panels in a serpentine wave pattern form the base. Because the building is so slender, it is counted among a new breed of "pencil towers" in New York City.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 129 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 162 mm | 1:3,000 |
| 256 mm | 207 mm | 1:2,344 |

- A very slender shaft
- The tower is far taller than it is wide, so the shaft is the part to watch. Print slowly with good cooling and 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers, and choose a larger print size for a wider shaft.
- Small steps near the top
- The upper section steps in slightly and ends in a flat crown with small details. Print friendly adapts those steps to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on larger prints or with a fine nozzle.
- One piece with the ground
- Central Park Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Central Park Tower takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Central Park Tower is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Central Park Tower STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Central Park Tower grows with the print: about 129 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
